Speed Spell Cards are Spell Cards that can only be used in Turbo Duels that were shown in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. They require the Field Spell Card "Speed World" or "Speed World 2" to be used.

Most Speed Spell Cards require removing Speed Counters equally an activation cost. During the Standby Phase, the turn player places one Speed Counter on their "Speed Earth" menu, or both players place one Speed Counter on their "Speed World 2" card. More powerful Speed Spell Cards require more Speed Counters to be removed.

Turbo Duels can also exist played in the Nintendo DS games Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D'due south World Championship 2009: Stardust Accelerator, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Earth Title 2010: Reverse of Arcadia and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Earth Championship 2011: Over the Nexus.

In these games, in addition to the several Speed Spells carried over from the anime, a number of Speed Spells were created based on existing Spell Cards from the OCG, such equally "Speed Spell - Harpie's Plume Duster", "Speed Spell - The Shallow Grave", and "Speed Spell - Monster Reborn". (No Speed Spell versions of already existing cards were ever seen in the anime.) Some of these were based on Forbidden cards, such as "Speed Spell - Raigeki" and "Speed Spell - Brain Control", which crave a large number of Speed Counters (between 6 and 12) to be removed in order to be activated.

Speed Spell Cards cannot exist put in non-Turbo Duel Deck, although Trap Cards with effects based on Speed Counters can exist included (only will take no effect).
